Just curious since I've owned a couple Jetta's and all the others have reached 250,000+ before they litterally fell apart from rust(1986 and 1991 1.6's) but currently I own a 1999 TDI Jetta with 234,783 miles and still running strong hoping to get 400,000 out of it since it is still a pretty solid car.

It sounds like you might have to be the one to tell us about high mileage. So much depends on what your driving is. I used to commute 63 miles to work, each way. Now Im retired and drive about 3 miles to the auto parts place or to the diner, grocery store, etc. I like to buy a car when it has over 150,000 miles on it, and the engine/tranny has given out. Then I rebuild it, and....well I havent worn any of those out -again- yet, 'cause I dont put more than 12,000 annually on a car.
(Which is good, due to the cost of gasoline.)

That makes me feel better about selling my mk IV jetta (1996) with 120k :smile:
