2000 Tahoe Limited Various Issues 5.7Llilmarv 09-11-2008, 12:04 AM Bought brand new, been good 2 me for 8 years, few issues cropping up. 123K 1. Piston Slap - at startup, goes away after motor warms up. Liveable but annoying as heck. Any Remedies??? 2. Losing Coolant - Slowly..smell it, see it in driveway. Any Ideas??? 3. Gas Needle VIBRATES like heck, seems 'fairly' accurate but jumps around. ? 4. Fairly ROUGH Idle at startup, SES Light comes on and stays on a few days, then goes away for a few days....REPEAT. ?? First guesses would be water pump and intake manifold (if it's the 5.7). Where does it accumulate? My '01 Yukon 5.3 was doing the same, but it was the gaskets on the water pump. 3.
