Bought brand new, been good 2 me for 8 years, few issues cropping up. 123K

1. Piston Slap - at startup, goes away after motor warms up. Liveable but annoying as heck. Any Remedies???

2. Losing Coolant - Slowly..smell it, see it in driveway. Any Ideas???

3. Gas Needle VIBRATES like heck, seems 'fairly' accurate but jumps around. ?

4. Fairly ROUGH Idle at startup, SES Light comes on and stays on a few days, then goes away for a few days....REPEAT. ??

Thanks for your input Gents

What engine? I can't remember - is this the first year with the 5.3, or is it still a 5.7?

2. First guesses would be water pump and intake manifold (if it's the 5.7). Where does it accumulate? My '01 Yukon 5.3 was doing the same, but it was the gaskets on the water pump.

3. Sending unit would be my guess.

Sorry I can't help with the rest. HTH.

If the SES light is coming on, then you need to find out what codes are stored.

Intake manifold gaskets are known issue and Fel-Pro makes a redesigned gasket that works much better than the stock ones.

By the way, I guess I could have read the title of the thread and gotten the engine!
