is it a Judgelarry55 09-10-2008, 09:55 PM I am looking at a 69 GTO that is being represented as a Judge and don't know how to tell. The vin #242379b117417 The cowl tag reads: ST 69 24237 Bal 517369 bdy TR 258 65 B PNT 10 B B 035235 Any help on this would be great as the is no build sheet to help Thanks MrPbody 09-11-2008, 05:59 PM Larry, You can't tell from the VIN. Send the VIN to Pontiac Historic Services, along with $40 (I think) and they'll send you a copy of the build sheet. One quick way to tell if it's a clone, is to open the trunk. If the springs will support the weight of the trunk lid with the wing installed, chances are good it IS a Judge. If not, it's either had the springs replaced with GTO springs, or it is a clone. The genuine "Judge" springs are pretty scarce. The PHS method is the most secure, and I DO advise it, as there are too many clones out there today. You can do a quick "google" on Pontiac Historic Services to find them. Pontiac always stuck a copy of the build sheet under the rear seat...
