Thats just about it. I parked under a pine Tree and now have Pine gum all over a 2007 PT Crusier . I ran out and bought a can of tar and bug remover claimed to be pine Pitch remover too. It didn't work. Carb cleaner work on the windows but I know it will ruin the clear coat. any sugestions.

I just bought this spray can bug & tar remover that worked well for me. Think it was Simoniz brand. My son had this road construction tar on the rocker panels of his car, took it off VERY easily with a spray & wipe with a paper towel.

Maybe you have to let it sit for a while. Usually pine tar comes off with a good scrubbing. I've used a rough sponge and dish soap in hot water.

First of all....do not ever use a "rough sponge" on a very unless you like the scratched finish look. Second...do not ever use dish soap on a car. It's not PH balanced properly for a car's finish. They make car soap for a reason.

To remove pine pitch...if it is in big "globs" use a heat gun to soften it a little and a plastic razor blade to carefully remove the majority of it. For the residue I find that solvent helps to soften it. When you have the most of it up use some buffing compound on a wax pad or soft cloth to remove the excess.
