96 v6 fuel pump and/or relay issueTPyles 08-26-2008, 09:14 PM Hey guys, I just got a 1996 chevy with a v-6. I got it not running, the guy had it at a shop and they wanted a ton to fix it,they said it needed a fuel pump, so I got a sweet deal. I got it home and got it ready to change the fuel pump and then I looked at the relay under the hood in the fuse block. They had a jumper wire from a hot to the relay, I hooked it up and it started right up and it ran perfect, but turn the ignition off and it still runs, wont stop till you pull the wire. I am thinking maybee its not a fuel issue and its an ignition swithch issue? Any ides? Its got 230,000 put sounds perfect. I swapped it out and it runs great. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
