96 c1500 misfire/wont start

Hi my truck started acting up about 2 weeks ago, when i would accelerate it would cut in and out and the rmp needle would go nuts. but after it started warming up after a block or 2 it would start to run good and then be fine for the rest of the day or even a day or so afterwards. but its gotten worse little by little everyday. now it plain just wont start. it will crack but wont fire up

when it ran it idled fine and it would always be the worst in the morning. like it ran good coming home from work last night and wont start now today

i would just like to know were to start. im not much of a car guy i only know how to do the basics:banghead: . i know its either not getting gas or not getting spark. i wouldnt think it would be a vaccum problem since it idled fine? and help on this is much appreciated

also this is a v6 4.3 vortec 2wd and i did have the truck tested and go the random misfire code
