96 grand caravan. I had a friend replace the rack and tie rod ends along with power steering pump. Now cruise don't work. Horn does work so It's not the fuse. Any suggestions?

Cruise controls are always designed in such a way that they disable themselves if any part is broken or disconnected (i.e. fail-safe).

1) look for disconnected wires, especially to the vacuum motor mounted between the Brake Master Cylinder and the battery on my 2001.

2) check that the vacuum hoses are all connected correctly. Reversed hoses would do it.

I installed a factory cruise kit in my 3.3L 2001 Voyager. There is a vacuum reservoir that is part of the bottom of the battery tray (actually a different tray from the non-cruise control battery tray). The reservoir provides extra vacuum to the vacuum motor when the engine vacuum is low, like when you press the accel button while going uphill.

The hose is not small, but it is tucked into a really hard to see or reach place, under the battery. If the hose fell off during the tie rod replacement, your friend might have thought it was for draining water out of the battery tray. Thinking it was not very important, he might have not have bothered to put it back on when he was finished. If so, I hope your friend didn't throw this extra hose away.

I don't know about your 96, but my battery is located really close to the left side steering parts. This would be an easy mistake to make, and would definitely cause the cruise to stop working. It is not easy to get to the nipple of the reservoir on the battery tray. You might need to take the battery tray out to get to it.

Check the sop light switch (under dash and next to brake pedal) if the arm on the switch is not moving smoothly or is hanging up the CC will not work.
