i have a 1997 chevy 1500 extended cab 4x4. it has a 3 inch body lift but otherwise is stock. i had aluminum 16 inch rims on it with 31 inch maxxis mudders. my question is will i be able to fit 33's on it or will i run into rubbing issues when i turn, or even height issues? how is a 33 bigger than a 31 inch tire? can i just measure from my 31's and see if i have 2 inches around the tires and see if it would rub? any help with be great, thanks.

I have 285/75/R16 Maxxis Buckshot on a stock 1998 Z71. I think that's a 33" and that the 245/75 or 265/75 would be a 31" or 32"...not sure how they round off when measuring the tire diameter. Anyways, a 285/75/16 is fine on mine without any lift or anything. A lot of folks put that size on the stock rims on those trucks.

Here's a tire size calculator that will give you the tire diameters, etc. when you input the metric tire size (285/75/16 etc)

If you have a three inch body lift you can put 33s on your truck. u will not have rubbing issues. I had this set up before i went with 9 inches of lift and 38s.

They will rub. unless you put a lift on. I have a six inch lift, three inch body and my 35s rub every once in awhile.

33" tires are called 33's and measure 33 inches high when off a rim but when you put them onto a rims they shrink down to around 31 inches tall with air inside them so even though they are 33's if you measure and its cutting it close id sday youll be fine im running 33's on my COMPLETELY stock 1992 silverado. the suspention i mean is stock haha :) the motor is far from it :grinyes:
