View Full Version : Nissan NISMO 380RS Competition WIP Nissan NISMO 380RS Competition WIP Veyron 08-19-2008, 02:54 PM For this one I am combining Tamiya's NISMO Fairlady Z and their JGTC Z kits. I'm making something close to the 380RS Competition shown at the 2006 Tokyo Auto Salon. It will have a full race interior and similar graphics to the real car. http://www.nismo.co.jp/en/products/complete/380RS/img/380rsc_main.jpg http://www.autocult.com.au/img/gallery/full/84FB8CSP.jpg So far I have chopped up a SAS Skyline resin hood and dissected the vents into four sections. Marked lines on the hood and cut holes for the vents. I also filled the stock fuel door and drilled a hole for a dry break fitting.(not pictured) The 'B' pillar has been removed and the rear side window opening adjusted to accept the blank window panel from the race Z kit. The side view mirror mounting panels have also been removed and the locating holes drilled for the race mirrors.(not pictured) http://infinite1der.org/~dino/380rsmock1b.jpg http://infinite1der.org/~dino/380rsmock4b.jpg Here you see the body in final primer and ready for paint. http://infinite1der.org/~dino/380rsmock3b.jpg Here's the unpolished painted body with a collection of some parts for the project. I'll use the racing RAYS rims from the race kit as they will help me lower the car without a plethora of other modifications. I am mating the rear 'package bin' from the stock Z to the race interior since there will be a rear window. The rear wing will be from Tamiya's Ings Z Power wing kit. http://infinite1der.org/~dino/380rsmock6b.jpg Robi J 08-19-2008, 06:10 PM Happy to see a progress from you. Robert Duncan1098 08-20-2008, 10:53 AM Great start, should be a very interesting build, good job on the bonnet. Veyron 08-25-2008, 07:16 AM Got interior completed and have began laying on some decals. Detailed brakes have the red anodized look in the center which should add a nice touch to the color scheme. http://infinite1der.org/~dino/380rsmock7b.jpg Polished body with light bezels and fuel filler inserted. Also lower body work and window trim painted. Decals to be put on next. http://infinite1der.org/~dino/380rsmock9b.jpg Big Kahuna 08-25-2008, 07:55 AM Very nice Brian.
