I looked into it also for my 98 dually. You will need the trans. maybe a 4l80E or 4l60E; converter and flexplate. You will need a computer for it, but they do make aftermarket ones. You will need a column or an aftermarket shifter. Need a drive shaft. My main thing was that it was hard for me to find parts at the junkyard so I would not have to buy everthing new; driveshaft, column, etc. You can do it but if you have to buy all new it will cost. When I was going to do it I was going to buy all new and with a aftermarket shifter and computer for the trans. I bought a reman manual trans this time because of money at the time but I will put a automatic in the next time.
