Hey there,

I have a quick question.

So my stock Honda needed replaced and so I wanted to replace it with a stock exhaust. None of this performance stuff that I have read all over the place in these forums.

Anyway. I ordered this stock Bosal Muffler (http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/autopartsplace/quote.jsp?PBJ=080817_115704_0990118260_HON&year=1996&make=HO&product=H5000-89833&application=000632781) and this Intermediate Pipe (http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/autopartsplace/wizard.jsp?PBJ=080817_115704_0990118260_HON&year=1996&make=HO&model=CVC-DX2-002&category=H&part=Intermediate+Pipe). Bought some bolts and springs and used the original rubber mounting brackets.

The only thing I did not replace is the header pipe which is the part that connects the intermediate pipe with the catalytic converter.

So after fitting the new parts there seemed a large distance between original header pipe and the intermediate pipe. I was just able to bolt them together but what is happened now is that the rest of the new exhaust system from this point to the back of the car is all pulled forward towards the front. The middle rubber hanger does not hang horizontal but is about 45 degrees compared to horizontal. The rear hanger just before the connection of the muffler and the intermediate pipe is extremely difficult to get on. Also the muffler now appears to be high because it is being pulled forward on its two rear hangers. It actually is touching the underside of the car. This of course concerns me because not only can I hear a rattle every now and then but of course becuase of the high temperature of the exhaust.

My question is.

Do you think this is being caused by the fact that i did not also buy this Bosal Header pipe (http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/autopartsplace/wizard.jsp?PBJ=080817_115704_0990118260_HON&year=1996&make=HO&model=CVC-DX2-002&category=H&part=Header+Pipe). Maybe the header pipe is an inch longer which is all i think i would need to correct these alignments issues. I have go to believe that Bosal know the specifications of my car and would not make a part that did not fit. But then all of these parts are supposed to be OEM equivalent parts so i assumed i could mix and match.

Any insights and help are greatly appreciated.

The Forums Timed out twice when trying to write this message. Little did I know everytime it timed out it posted a message. Did not see anywhere to delete the duplicate messages.
