Advice from collision shop ownerswalleye_hunter 08-14-2008, 10:34 AM I am considering the purchase of an auto body shop, and I need advice from collision shop owners. A primary concern is that I lack experience in this field. I was a telecom test engineer for almost 30 years. I have checked local colleges and tech schools near this business and none offer evening classes. That makes learning the business difficult. The obvious advantage to being an owner/operator is the ability to fill-in for an absent employee. Has anyone been down this path? Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. I thank you in advance for your reply. Greenblurr93 08-14-2008, 02:49 PM Best advice i can give... go work entry level in a shop thats willing to teach you... LearnAutoBody 08-15-2008, 09:43 AM I agree with Greenblurr93, I would not want to start a collision business without any experience. I have heard of it being done, meaning they managed the business, but they did not perform any of the work. I see a lot of problems you would face without experience. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
