99 escort zx2 fuel trims high

I have a 99 escort ZX2 car runs like poop, sucks down gas, no check engine light. i checked for codes, none found. i did however see long fuel trim up around 19% hot idle. i cleared kam and checked again, short trim shot right up following long fuel trim. checked egr function, oh,ZX2's have no egr system. cant run an evap test with my scan tool, but no evap codes anyway.
spark plugs look new and properly gaped(ngk) no obvious vacuum leaks.

When you say it runs like poop I assume you are saying it has no power. Is the air filter clogged? The timing belt could have slipped causing retarded valve timing. This would cause poor fuel mileage and poor power. The MAF sensor could be bad causing it to run rich by default. The engine temperature sensor going to the PCM could be giving a false reading. The IAT could be faulty. If it is sucking fuel the spark plugs should be black. The ignition timing could be retarded causing low power and bad mileage. All of these things woiuld cause poor performance and low fuel mileage. Read the plugs, they will tell you the story.

the plugs are new there is no build up of any sort. the air filter is also new and the maf sensor reads good. i will try looking at the iat i didnt think of that one.
