Its got the vortec....
Riding down my friends driveway it suddenly cuts off.
Changed spark plugs last night, thought that might have had something to do with it, had the distributor cap and rotor off when i did that, so we checked spark first - it was good.
Fuel pressure is 60 on cranking and stays constant about 58 after you let off the starter. From what I've read it should be higher, but I would think it would still run even if a little low.
Sprayed ether in intake and the engine caught, but will not run.
Some washing on the regulator side of the plenum, but I imagine that has been that way for a while and does not affect this problem.

During the course of trying to fix the problem, the engine caught on its own maybe twice, and didn't stay running more than a second or two.

Any thoughts?

You need to check your fuel pressure to ensure that its not leaking. With the ignition switch on. You should have 61-65 lbs of pressure. Engine running should be 60-66 lbs pressure, pending on the load. Ignition switch off, your pressure should not drop below 55psi within 5 minutes. If it drops below 55psi before 5 minutes. You’ll need to check to see if your nut kit or Fuel regulator are leaking. If no leaks are found, Then do a full fuel pump test. A quick test is to block off the return line and see if fuel pressure comes up to 75-85 lbs.

Gabe,
I posted my reply in the other thread, I wish I could combine the two, my browser froze last night and I ended up posting twice. Decent pressure and no leak down.
