Motor redlines and I have to let off gas for truck to shift out of 2nd gear, and no problem code. I have already changed the TPS sensor, so that wasn't the problem.

2001 dodge p/u 1500 5.2L automatic

It appears that you have a bad governor pressure sensor. Replace it and you will be set.
