I'm also not gonna use the CE28 rims, but I have a 2 pieces set from Pegasus. The spokes will be painted in body colour I think. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_004~23.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_005~23.jpg I also have 2 sets of Nissan sporscar decals. I think to use the Nismo Zero decals from Crazy Modeller. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_006~21.jpg I'm not sure about the bodycolour yet. Kris. iceracer1 08-19-2008, 07:31 AM After some panelscribing, I primed the body. Yesterday I painted it with 4 layers of TS-38 Gun Metal. It shines already and I still have to clearcoat it :D http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/gun_metal_001.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/gun_metal_002.jpg I'll bring on the Nismo Zero decals this weekend and clearcoat it. The spokes from the wheels will be black. The dishes wil be red I think. I think that looks great with this body colour and decals. Kris. janositamas 08-19-2008, 09:51 AM The color is fantastic and the shine is excellent! Keep us updated! iceracer1 08-23-2008, 07:32 AM I also did some work on the Fairlady Z. I used the CM Nismo Zero decals for the body. I really love the quality of these decals. They work very well. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/decals_001~6.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/decals_002~6.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/decals_003~6.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/decals_004~6.jpg I also want to have a CF spoiler and hood, so I used CF from CM and after placing it I added the Nismo zero logo on the hood. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/decals_006~3.jpg I also want to paint the wheels. First I painted the spokes in Dark metallic grey. I also added Nismo logo's on the wheels. I wanted to make a red trim around the wheels but I like the subtile chrome trim now, so I leave this. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/decals_007~2.jpg And some dryfit photo's :) http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/decals_008~0.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/decals_009~0.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/decals_010~0.jpg Meanwhile I also clearcoated it, and I have to wait a week before polishing the paint. Kris. Veyron 08-23-2008, 07:38 AM Looking real good! sinoguy 08-29-2008, 01:08 AM i love 350z,i have one but made by tamiya tuned.by.twenty 08-29-2008, 02:26 AM I've got to track down some of those decals for myself. Looks good so far! I like the subtle carbon fiber spoiler; sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference. Entau 08-29-2008, 02:30 AM the wheel looks cool, good choice! iceracer1 09-05-2008, 09:19 AM I haven't much done last days on this car, but I forget to place some pictures of the clearcoated body. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/clear_001~6.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/clear_002~6.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/clear_003~6.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/clear_004~4.jpg I think I just polish it up with some polishcompound instead of sanding and polishing the paint. Kris. iceracer1 09-23-2008, 09:12 AM not interesting enough guys? Last week I polished the body of the 350z. I think this model is one of my best at the moment. The paint was already smooth and I started sanding with grit 4000 till 12000 and than polished it with different compounds. It shines like a bowling ball :D I also painted the windowtrims and placed the lights. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/polish_001~7.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/polish_002~7.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/polish_003~7.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/polish_004~7.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/polish_005~6.jpg I'll start on the interior and chassis as soon as possible. Kris. 360spider 09-23-2008, 10:51 AM Looking good. KevHw 09-23-2008, 09:14 PM Great job on the cf hood, and I'm glad you left the chrome on the rims, looks better in my opinion than red. I'm felling a bit reserved about the decals though. Fantastic shine! Oh and I like the cf around the headlights but shouldn't they have some light layers of smoke too? tuned.by.twenty 09-23-2008, 09:50 PM This 350Z was enough for me to buy some CM ZERO decals. See what you've done? tonioseven 09-23-2008, 10:12 PM Simply fantastic! I am curious to see what the rims would look like with some clear red on the edges. :sunglasse iceracer1 09-24-2008, 06:47 AM Great job on the cf hood, and I'm glad you left the chrome on the rims, looks better in my opinion than red. I'm felling a bit reserved about the decals though. Fantastic shine! Oh and I like the cf around the headlights but shouldn't they have some light layers of smoke too? CF around the headlights? I didn't use CF on the headlights :P Kris. KevHw 09-24-2008, 08:09 PM http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/polish_004%7E7.jpg I've been fooled into thinking there was CF around the headlights! :cwm27: Looked like plain weave to me....must just be the moulding, haha! Rye 21 09-25-2008, 02:48 PM let me tell you sir..... that is one sexy looking car. I love the CF, i gotta order some sheets for my next builds..... Looks killer :) mrawl 09-28-2008, 07:35 AM That's a nice looking car and the decals are awesome! What did you clear it with? Any fear/hint of trouble with the decals? Sorry, I always ask this question, I'm paranoid about it, I just have to do my own and learn the hard way I think. :) janositamas 09-28-2008, 09:14 AM Very nice so far, the shine is absolutely good, and the rims are good choice also! What color do you plan for the interior? Maybe some red/black combo? iceracer1 10-03-2008, 09:07 AM That's a nice looking car and the decals are awesome! What did you clear it with? Any fear/hint of trouble with the decals? Sorry, I always ask this question, I'm paranoid about it, I just have to do my own and learn the hard way I think. :) I had no problems with the decals. Just use Microsol SOL and a hairdryer. I clearcoated it with Tamiya TS-13. And for the interior it will be flat black/red and aluminium (maybe carbon) details. Kris. iceracer1 10-09-2008, 03:40 PM Today I completed the interior. I didn't use any accesoires except for the interiorflocking. The rest is a custom idea of colorsheme. I think it looks great. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_%281%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_%282%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_%283%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_%284%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_%285%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_%286%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_%287%29.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_%288%29.jpg Now it's time to start and finish the chassis in a week, because the 18th it must be completed for a competetion here. Kris. Entau 10-10-2008, 02:15 PM initially when u paint it gun metal i dint quite like the color, so as the zero decal, BUT once u put everthing on and clearcoat+polish...fuh...i change my mind totally, great job...:bigthumb: tuned.by.twenty 10-10-2008, 10:58 PM I'm in love with this Z. The combination of paint, decals, interior colours, and wheels works extremely well. janositamas 10-11-2008, 07:10 AM Interior do looks good for sure, now that is what I was thinking of by suggesting the black/red combo! Perfect for my eyes! iceracer1 10-13-2008, 01:50 PM Thanks guys :) Yesterday I started with the chassis. First I modified the PE discbrakes to fit on the chassis. I also modified the calipers to fit it on the discbrakes. After that I replaced the ugly exhaustends for metal parts. I think it looks 10 times beter :) The exhaust was first painted silver, followed by some tamiya wheatering and after all I clearcoated it. Now this was done, I painted all the chassis parts and glued it together. The last thing was wheatering the chassis. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_004~6.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_005~5.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_006~5.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_007~5.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_008~4.jpg I also completed the body. I added a nismo licenceplate and the other left-over parts. http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_001~7.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_002~7.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_003~7.jpg and this is how it stands now: http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_009~3.jpg http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_010~3.jpg I only have to add these things together and than it's finished. I hope to finish it today or tomorrow. Kris. Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com! Registration is absolutely free. |
