Would it be possible to take the nose off a 68 lemans and put it on my 71?Chad82 08-11-2008, 01:22 PM There is a 68 lemans for sale for parts for $500 (no engine, rusted out floor, said driver side door, front of the car and trunk are all good body panels). Would this be a basic bolt on of body panels or would it require fabrication? MagicRat 08-12-2008, 02:28 PM The '68 and '71 are the same basic platform, so the doors, hood, fenders and front end all bolt on, generally no fabrication is required, (so long as neither car has been bent in an accident. ) However, take a good look at the rear quarters and remaining sheet metal on your car. Be sure the '71 doors will match the contour of the '68 rear quarter panels etc. Chad82 08-12-2008, 11:43 PM I was hoping that just the front end would be changeable. The passenger side door and rear was rusted (rear quarters) or dented (door). I was hoping that the fenders could even stay, just swap out front and hood. MrPbody 08-13-2008, 09:49 AM I've seen it done. The doors really need to be changed, too, as the bulge in the '70-'72 isn't there on the '68/'69. The rear portion of the doors does match. It makes for an "interesting" look. It will sure confuse the neighbors! Jim Chad82 08-13-2008, 01:30 PM alright, thanks. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
