I'll make it in German style like my real 1:1 VW.
I'll search for a Golf with Porsche rims in a VWmagazine to build it like that car.

Tamiya's Porsche 911 Turbo

I like this Golf with those Porsche rims, a guy has a black Golf IV with similar Porsche rims who lives close to me (as I see that car often), looks interesting but cool!

I have done some work a few days ago.

I started searching for reference in some VW magazines.

This is the car I like and will use for reference. I'm not gonna make it exactly but I try to make it simillar to this one.

Instead of making new panellines etc. for a 3 door body, I only cleaned the rear doors and the doorhandles. I also removed the indicatorlights.

Now the front. The real car has a half cleaned frontbumper. Look at the indicatorlights in the front. I do'nt like that so I'll leave that part original. The grille in the frontbumper is also modified. Normally there are vertical and horizontal parts. I removed the horizontal parts. Near the grillle there are 2 holes for foglights. I also filled them for a cleaner look.

On the back I also did some work. First I removed the vw logo. I also removed the keyhole and the part where this is build-in. Now I have a half cleaned thrunk.

I also have modified 2 sidemirrors to create the ProjektZwo mirrors on the original.

Meanwhile I primed the body and painted it already.

I did some last puttywork on the body and than I primed it again.

Yesterday I painted the body.

First I used flat black and than 4 layers of TS-56 Deep Blue Metallic. I really love the colour now.

Aren't the doors on the 2dr version longer by a few inches, as well as the rear side windows being farther back? For example: In the picture of the 1:1 version, the rear window ends where the gas door begins.

It's to much work for something you won't see later. I have no problems with this, because I've seen real projects in the VWscene and some of them also just weld the doors to the body.

Strange or not I still like it.

Interesting, I never saw that on a real Golf or other car although I visit lots of car meetings, some of them here in Hockenheim and I read lots of VW magazines.
These VW freaks take a five-door car and love it or wait until they find a three-door car.

I've seen some pictures and projects from a guy wich makes a jetta (1986) from 5 doors to 3 doors. Just because the 3 doors are hard to find.

Also by making a pickup from a sedan car they weld the doors with the body.

So it's possible, and there are people that maybe did it an a Golf.

In this scale I think you won't see much difference, so I'm not gonna modify the whole body for just that little detail.
But if I had done that, I also have to make new windows, because they are to small, and that's something I don't want to do.

Also the chassis is smaller on a 3 doors Golf, do I also have to modify this? Because otherwise it still looks strange......

All these points together, are enough for me to say I DON"T DO THAT! :tongue:

I also searched for better seats. I think these Recaro seats from the partsbox.com would be nice.

I also clearcoated the body. After placing the vr6 decals, I sprayed four layers of ts-13 clear.

The colour is hard to photograph, but you can believe me, it's very special. Especially in the sun.

Damn, that color is sick!!!! Why do some spell color, colour? I really dunno.

I placed the lights on it and finished the chassis.

I also polished the paint again for more shine.

What kind of trim? The original car in the magazine is also full red without a trim or something...

I also think those wheels look terrific on that Golf. With that great paint job, it almost looks real from the front view. Nice job!

Finally I did some last work on this car.

First the interior. I used only black as maincolor, and because it was a bit boring, I added some accesoires.
I used ScaleProduction resin Rallye seats, Fujimi steeringwheel, black interiorflocking, a 3D Porsche logo, radiofront, white tacho's, FHM magazine and a AMT mini plastic kit :)
