wrangler audio issues

I left the top down on my 1998 Jeep Wrangler and had an unexpected heavy rain soak the car. The panel lights for the radio/cd player come on but the only sound I get is a popping noise when the cd is playing and the volume is turned up to the max. The radio otherwise does not make any sound. Also, the fan and heater work but the AC does not since the rainfall. It has been four days and the jeep has been sitting out in hot sunny weather. Help!

just a thought, try checking all of your fuses. your stereo has memory power and main power. maybe your ac cycling switch/or pressure cut off switch, and one of your stereo power wires go through the same fuse?

check the fuses and get back with us on the results

Thanks for your response and advice to check the fuses. I took the jeep in to an automotive electric shop and they confirmed that it was the radio that was shot due to the water. I have since replaced the radio and all is well,
