RIP ericn1300 08-10-2008, 07:24 PM It always seem's to come in threes. I literally stopped working and layed there for a few. As for the third death, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for britney... I hope its not another black entertainer. Would just be too wierd. redimp2000 08-10-2008, 09:11 PM I think that Isaac was the third. George Carlin passed earlier this year, then Bernie Mac, then Isaac Hayes. Sounds like 3 great ones to me. "Just suck on my chocolate salty balls" I think Carlin's passing was a little earlier to be "included" in the "# Rule " if it does exist. I've noticed they usually occur within 10 to 14 days of each other, but time may tell. Hopefully it was the 3rd of 3. I hope its not another black entertainer. Would just be too wierd. Can you imagine being a black entertainer at this time ands seeing both Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes passing within days of each other? Kind of would put a scare in me . LadyNRedSi 08-11-2008, 10:01 AM his family left to go to the store. when they came back he was dead on the floor next to his still running treadmill.... ironic. you hear of different various sudden deaths of fit people. you're damned if you work out, damned if you don't :dunno: Damien 08-11-2008, 12:34 PM I'm sorry, but while I hate this Hayes died, I hate even more that this thread insulted him by making it like his only accomplishment was some shI%%# show that he even left. Bernie Mac's thread doesn't say, "R.I.P Bosley" :disappoin So disappointing...... EDIT: Something i just read, could be Samuel L. Jackson. Mac, Hayes, and Jackson were all working on a movie together and now two of them are dead..... Mac, Hayes, and Jackson were all working on a movie together and now two of them are dead..... Sorry you took this thread in that manner. In my first post I also mentioned his music career for which I am more familiar with dating back to the early '70s , and his role in one of my favorite movies, "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka" from the late '80s. Being an "older" member on this forum I figured referencing his role as Chef on South Park would be more familiar to those members in their late teens and 20s. His career spanned multiple decades making him noteworthy with more than one generation of fans. Damien 08-11-2008, 08:13 PM ^That's the thing, young people only relate to such trash and not to the rela legendary things he's done. It's cool, we were just talking about this at work today. We were listing off songs and what not then someone chimed in, "Oh you Chef from South Park." I about beat him with a box. :D tman 08-11-2008, 08:22 PM ^That's the thing, young people only relate to such trash and not to the rela legendary things he's done. I about beat him with a box. :D As a young person, I am indeed more familiar with his recent work. However, I have also seen, heard and appreciated his former accomplishments. His 10 minute performance in Robin Hood Men in tights was probably the best part of that movie. We are youngsters, and we do relate to the more recent projects. I take it youve never given much attention to the South Park. His character was ALWAYS the most level headed and sensible character of the show. It's a shame the two parted ways over disputes about Scientology, but I suppose its better that he was written out before his passing. I am sorry we have not been more publically appreciative of his previous works. Damien 08-11-2008, 08:28 PM I'm young too, it's just I hate how young people get stuck on one thing and...anywho, I don't care to get into it. I guess he could have been stuck at being "the guy who made the Shaft song" so... SHAFT!!! Can you dig it? Gohan Ryu 08-12-2008, 05:43 PM They say this cat Shaft was a bad mutha... *Shut your mouth* '97ventureowner 08-13-2008, 01:33 AM his family left to go to the store. when they came back he was dead on the floor next to his still running treadmill.... ironic. you hear of different various sudden deaths of fit people. you're damned if you work out, damned if you don't :dunno: Preliminary reports are pointing to a stroke, and a full autopsy has yet to be scheduled:http://www.9wsyr.com/entertainment/story.aspx?content_id=dc2adfe9-d8a3-4c2c-8f13-eedd0aa6ea02 2strokebloke 08-13-2008, 06:33 AM Regardless of his past achievements, he was most recently and most famously the voice of Chef on South Park - and whether or not you like the show that is what he is best known for now. It'd be as if when Reagon died you remembered him for staring in B movies and doing product placement instead of being one of the loopiest presidents of all time. Of course, if you didn't know Hayes did stuff before South Park - then you must live in a damp dark box in the corner of a cold basement somewhere. All good men, R.I.P. but kinda eerie how that works out. Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com! Registration is absolutely free. |
