View Full Version : car stalls when shift into reverse when warm car stalls when shift into reverse when warm 94HeavyChevy 08-09-2008, 10:30 PM j cAT 08-09-2008, 10:41 PM i have a 95 caprice with a 4.3 v8 and 4l60e tranny. when i start the car in the morning after sitting all night i can shift into reverse and drive with no battery bounce. when the car is warm and i shift it i get battery bounce. sometimes when i shift it into reverse the car shuts off. what could this be? what is the idle rpm when warm? this will be lower than at first cold start... Iac and throttlebody cleaning is the usual as the IAC should increase idle drop RPM when placing the vehicle in gear and when turning the steering wheel when stopped... jd-autotech 08-09-2008, 10:46 PM well could there be a weak motor mount causing some kind of connection problem. exspanding more allowing more travel when hot? just a guess 94HeavyChevy 08-11-2008, 12:22 PM not sure of the rpm because the car has no tach. What does IAC stand for? bhw33191 08-11-2008, 01:22 PM not sure of the rpm because the car has no tach. What does IAC stand for?
