plug wires

I bought a set of wires but before I get into it what is the best way to get to the area where the wires plug into the coil I don't think my arm will fit through the hole on top of the engine. Do I need to remove something or go from the bottom?

I'm guessing it's a 2.2 OHV engine?

From below is much easier, altough you can do it from above if you reach in from the front right of the engine. Just push your arm in there as hard as you can and ignore the pain! I just measured, and my forearms at the largest place are 13" in circumference, so if i can get my arm in there, I'd bet just about anyone can.

Bottom is best on the 95-97 2.2L

Gm later got smarter and mounted them on the side. ha ha.

lol measured my forearms for fun just under 14 so I'll be jacking it up and crawling under it to do it. I tried to go between the brake booster and intake last weekend, I only have a bruised/scratched/burned forearm to show. thanks for the help I'll let you know how it goes.

Got them on! I sucked it up and forced my arm through, took off a few layers of skin while at it. I would have went through the bottom but our home owners association doesn't like to see cars jacked up. :nono: She does run a little smoother now so thanks for the help.

What is this about not having your car jacked up?

They consider it an eye sore and can fine you. If you are enough of a problem they can force you to sell your house.

Well I think that is ridiculous. Not like you're jacking your car up for months and leaving it in the driveway. On the 2001 2.2L OHV, you can get them pretty easily from the front/right side (if you're looking at the engine from the front).

Well luckily for you and me, the 2.2 OHV engine is the most difficult to work on. Thank you GM! :shakehead
