My car died...need another similar... cinealta_draiodoir 08-09-2008, 10:11 AM I've looked around at local places, but all the newer cars look like they've been squeezed from a tube or something. I like a slightly more boxy car, like the new Charger but with a much lower price tag, LOL. A four door. And I've got to see the hood out in front of me. I hate cars with a huge dash but no hood. (like a neon...) Can someone point me in the right direction? Something $3000 or less? I've like it to be fairly easy to mod. I know I've got a speed problem, so how about something a little bit safer also? My last one didn't even have an airbag, lol. Oh, and before I get something like "you need to slow down" I work in EMS, and after a really bad shift it's either go drink and smoke myself to death OR go have fun driving up a mountain at 100mph at 3am with no other cars around. :1zhelp: '97ventureowner 08-09-2008, 03:15 PM A good choice for your description above would be a 91-96 B-Body GM such as the Chevy Caprice/Buick Roadmaster. These cars are safe, easy to mod and can still be bought for a relatively low price. Other cars that could be considered would be 1990 and earlier Caprices, or even a Buick Lesabre from the early '90s. Those cars are similar to your "88" so you already have some experience with them, can be picked up rather inexpensively, can be modded, and were reliable. If you go the route with the Lesabre, beef up the tranny before you mod the engine so you won't be in the same boat as you are in now. H.L.Dillon 08-20-2008, 05:26 PM i think you should check out some auctions i bought a porshe 914 for $500 now i know it didnt run when i bought it they said that it had a bad fuel pump well that wasnt it it turned out that it was just a $2.50 cheap fuel relay it cost me $65 too town it too my house when i bought it so i spent $567.50 total for the car cinealta_draiodoir 08-21-2008, 05:18 AM Sweet. I've got a few things to check out then. Rust is a big problem around here for older cars though. I was offered an old ambulance at work, lol. It's got a lot of miles though...it's rolled over to 0 and has 300k miles Again. :headshake easymuny 08-21-2008, 10:50 AM Have you checked the online classifieds? It may take a little time to search the listings but you will probably find what you are looking for. I would search the free online classifieds as well as cars.com and others.
