well i started this awhile ago and just now have had the batteries to take pics! (yay for rechargeables!)

any way the only thing i have been working on is the undercarrige and finished it yesterday, im sad to inform that i was not able to take any pics until 5 mins ago. so no pics of the progress up to right now.

as for the paints, i use tamiya acryls and tamiya weathering kit d.

i sprayed the chassis itself with nato black and the enigne flat alum. the suspension parts were air sprayed with semi gloss black!

so give me your honest opinions as this is the first model i have started to build in almost 15 years!

also the pics are kinda crappy as my cam is kinda crappy!

i am usingf my real life volvo 1990 240 as a model as it has all the perfect real life weathering aspects im going for!

i have not even begun to work on the body, but the body will be light gun metal, using tamiya spray can!

now on to the pcis!

also im learning how to make "good" model pics so i am absolutly positive that they too along with my modeling skills will improve ten fold as time goes by!

thanks

eh, it's the pics man.

can't really see what going on in some of those.

In others however, the washes and respect for parts' borders look quite precise.

The muffler might a bit too blue.

I do like the subject matter.

Maybe spare us the pure blurry pics. I have no doubt that your photo capturing ability will improve. Get a good camera, a decent backdrop, and good lighting.

The replies will flood in.

Yea as mentioned give us better pictures to look at.
I think the most important part of a car model is the paint job/detailing on the body. Most of the chassis can be painted flat black entirely except parts that are visible when the model is being left alone on a table. Sometimes I even leave the whole section of exhaust pipes black leaving only a muffler and tip that's colored!
Can't wait to see properly focused pics of the interior and body work!
I think this is the first time this car appeared on this forum. Is this a good kit?

A couple of the shots look fine. I think the blame is on the other side...lol.
Chassis looks good. I'd paint the spindles on the wheels black to blend with the chassis a bit and sand the tread on the tires to remove the molding and shine.

Aaah. A trip down memory lane.:loser:

I built this car some 15 years ago (well almost built it, it's not yet finished... Some minor details to fix).
I cannot remember much about it, but I do know that I liked the looks of the car.

And I also like the looks of the chassis you made (well, at least on the pictures that are sharp and clear:naughty:). The weathering looks nice, something I never tried before I must admit. Good for you, for trying it immediately on your first re-entry model !

I have no suggestions for your build, but for old times sake I'll sure be following your progress !
