99 JGC A/C not blowing full throttlejahillia 08-05-2008, 05:34 PM I've seen some of the other AC issues for a 99 JGC Laredo but they don't seem to apply to my situation. The fan blows full force at first then just tapers off. More noticalbe when I'm driving than sitting still. If I throttle it, it seems to effect the speed of the fan. Any ideas what would cause this? Thanks, reekor 08-05-2008, 05:49 PM If it’s an I6 try to tighten the fan belt. On these engines if the belt gets a little lose with the a/c compressor turned on the belt tends to bounce up and down at the alternator pully making it slip and not charge. Thanks, If you own a Laredo the air flow is probably switching to the defrost vents due to a vacuum leak. This would make it feel like the air flow is weak, but it's actually normal, it's just coming out of the front window defrost. Look under the hood for a loose or cracked vacuum hose, usually the larger one that connects to the intake manifold. legalfee 08-06-2008, 02:36 PM I would suspect a vacuum issue also. Especially if it's a L6 (you didn't say). There's a TSB out on AC mode shift to defrost during accelleration. I haven't noticed the air coming out of the bottom vents but I'll check that out this evening. reekor 08-06-2008, 09:22 PM "I" as in inline 6, no such thing as a v6 in that model year.
