Feel free to leave me comment on this forum, as visit every now and then. http://cartoonerz.com/inprogress2.html Thanks again guys. -Justin. PDQ VW 08-03-2008, 06:23 PM I'll be watchin'! lemorris 08-04-2008, 09:16 AM how bout a link to the tutes you found. I wouldn't abandon all vector applications in total...you'll find the vector appliacations will give you a cleaner line to render to, which may be desired depending on what your drawing is for. Good luck to you though. If there's anything I can do for you, just ask. -Lemorris Cartoonerz 08-04-2008, 11:18 AM I went throught alot of tutorials, but 2 really explained the line art and coloring in a simple way, Which I found great. For the line art I found this one : http://acaraluv.deviantart.com/art/lineart-with-the-pen-tool-21814747 For coloring, this one is awesome : http://www.melissaclifton.com/tutorial-lineart2.html It helped me alot and gave me new ideas also, I find that Flash was more limited and was pissing me off in the past couple of days, haha. I'll see how it goes and all with the bike, but I'm sure it will turn out pretty good. Thanks for helping Lemorris, I appreciate it. Justin. Cartoonerz 08-04-2008, 05:24 PM ok, so I have a question... I hope theres an answer to this.. Cause the coloring process is way to long !! If you look at the picture, you see theres white "space" between the color and line art, where theres the 2 circles for example, I have to take a brush and color all around the lineart so its nice and tidy..(or use the magicstick and inverse it so i can do it quicker) Is there another method I can take so the colors are not doing this, or is it just part of this process ? It's a bit hard to explain..haha http://www.cartoonerz.com/other/coloring.jpg Cartoonerz 08-04-2008, 06:01 PM I think I might of done this incorrectly !! Man, I so dont know what to do anymore ! Cartoonerz 08-05-2008, 07:09 PM Here's the process !! ...decided to post the images here after all :) The whole process is based off this image. It might be longer to color it, but I think it's getting along nicely ! http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occimg.jpg http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occ01.jpg http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress.jpg http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress2.jpg http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress1.jpg http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress4.jpg http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress6.jpg http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress9.jpg rexsins-art 08-05-2008, 09:54 PM WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my jaw just hit the ground that is brilliant ,dont give up on this man im sure lems ,or robbo etc can help you out lemorris 08-05-2008, 10:15 PM I make sure my magic wand or selection tool has anti-alias turned off. That'll get you closer to the edge. The other thing I do is go to select-expand by 1 pixel. That will take your selection into your black line. Since your blackline is above your color it will act as a trap. I also went a step further and recorded an action of my 1 pixel selection and assigned it to my F3 key. This way after I select and area I just hit F3 and viola. Hope that helps. -Lemorris oh looks great btw! Cartoonerz 08-05-2008, 11:27 PM [quote]http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress11.jpg Last one for tonight ! Thanks for the comment Rexsins. Lemorris : Thanks for the tip, it helped a bit..Do you use a mouse or a drawing pad btw ? Cartoonerz 08-06-2008, 09:47 PM Most of the base color was added. Need to add shadowing and highlights. Lemorris : I found out about the expand pixels with the magic wand, it works great, thanks alot for the tip. Appreciate it :) http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress12.jpg lemorris 08-07-2008, 12:40 AM I use a mouse another thing that helps is to make your selections from paths created with the pen tool or the polygon lasso tool. Once again anti-alias off. You can even save paths if you like. Another great secret when doing you initial lineart is CTRL+T that makes any selection modifiable with the freeform transform tool...this is invaluable for rims and stuff like that. You can transform your elliptical selection then stroke it then transform the same selection again...basically you can render all your ellipses on the same angle one right after the other without having to redraw each time. Note. I do the outer wheel and inner wheel on separate layers then cut away what doesn't need to be there then merge. Your piece looks great. You have turned another corner. Very impressive. -lemorris Cartoonerz 08-07-2008, 10:36 PM http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress14.jpg Cartoonerz 08-07-2008, 11:40 PM http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress15.jpg Cartoonerz 08-10-2008, 12:42 AM Almost there...http://www.cartoonerz.com/images/inprogress/occprogress16.jpg Cartoonerz 08-10-2008, 07:32 PM Here it is , my first bike and my first art done entirely with photoshop.
