i have a 90 pathfinder, when i turn the key to start it nothing happens unless i pump the clutch repeatedly. is their a sensor in the clutch pedal that i can override? where is it, what can i do?

Sounds like the clutch interlock switch needs to be adjusted. Make sure the clutch pedal is closing the switch when you depress the pedal. It's located on backside of the clutch pedal.

will the interlock switch make you lose fire?
