Facel VegaChris 10-18-2001, 02:40 PM A lovely French luxury car maker from the 50's and 60's. They made big American-inspired cars (they were powered by Chrysler hemi's), they were quite popular with the rich. They could cruise at 120mph, and still be really luxurious and nice to drive. In many respects, they competed against Ferrari, because if you wanted luxury at high speed, Ferrari couldn't do it, but Facel-Vega could (although acceleration was a fair bit slower, as was handling). They might still be around today, it they hadnt made an un-reliable mainstream car (the warranty claims forced them into bankruptcy). Sigh:( Jimster 11-03-2001, 02:50 AM Those FAcel Vega's were very nice cars EightOhOne 12-29-2001, 06:52 PM anyone have pics? These things go for a fortune Chris 02-28-2002, 12:00 PM I saw one at the Toronto Auto Show. It was an HK500, and was a huge highlight of the day for me. It was not perfect, but it was a great car nonetheless. crayzayjay 02-28-2002, 06:46 PM it sounds stupid but sometimes a car's faults make it more lovable to its driver. it shows how willing you are to tolerate little weaknesses because the rest of the car or the car as a whole is so great and enjoyable.. dave@stjohncable.c 02-02-2004, 02:33 AM my father-inlaw had one with a dual-qaud 383 in it awhile back,he said it was stock, but I don't know enough about them. Stefanel1 02-11-2004, 04:13 PM Very nice... but very rare and expensive. ;) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
