Hello all,
I am working on a friend's '97 626 2.0L automatic with 133K. I have posted a couple of pics to illustrate the question.

He wanted some routine maintenance done, and in my exploring, I found a disconnected linkage on the driver's side suspension. It's looks like a sway bar link, but I don't see how it is supposed to stay together. Also, what is it?
His chief complaint was that the car engages harshly in reverse. The CV joints are shot, and I suspect a motor mount is bad, indicated by a lot of engine torque going into reverse. It doesn't do it in any other gear, and it shifts ok. Fluid is ok, also. Should I suspect the front most, bottom engine mount, which looks like a torque strut to me, or a rear engine mount?
The transmission was replaced when he got it, but that is about all I know about it....
Thanks in advance!

Got it, it is the stabilizer link. I've never seen one like this, but apparently it was in the way when the tranny was replaced, because they are both broken exactly the same. Trans. mount is not bad either, just not reassembled correctly.
