1998 S-10 X-cab Truck and Oil pressure?

The oil gauge on my S-10 started to drop into the lower 30's when at idle or letting off the gas peddle.
Also noticed some lifter noise for just a few seconds at startup.Something to worry about? Never happened before.
What is the normal range? Also noticed my truck was getting hotter than usual.Could that cause the problem?

normal psi would be about 30 at idle. the pressure will increase when u load the engine. normal range will be dead center on the gauge when loaded. lifter noise on start up may be from sitting for a while. all oil will drain back into the pan and the engine will be dry. if all else fails, look into getting new lifter. if the are hydrallic then they are losing pressure. new 1s are in order. also the hotter than normal is a cooling issue. may not have anything to do will oil pressure.
