1995 Escort Stereo

My stereo was stolen for the 2nd time last week. :frown: Well we have a new one hooked up and everything seems to be done properly but we are getting no power to the stereo. After the stereo was taken my car wouldn't move out of park and so I had to push the reset button by the shifter to get it to move. Also the passenger side door no longer automatically locks/unlocks with the driver's side door. So what I am wondering is what could have been screwed up that would cause the stereo and the locks not to work? Any help would be fantastic.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Check the 'Room' fuse in the passenger compartment fuse panel:

I figured it out yesterday and it was in fact the room fuse, thanks for the info on what fuse does what though I was wondering what all was attached to that one.

The neighborhood I live in really isn't that bad it's the people that come in from the neighborhoods surrounding it that cause the problems. They hit 3 other cars the same night within like a half of a block.

Thanks again for the info

That's good, thanks for letting us know. Sorry about the delay in replying - I did try to reply just an hour or so after you first started the thread but there were problems with the forum database, so many of us were unable to login for 36 hours, which was a bit frustrating. Let's hope your luck improves and you get to keep the stereo this time.
