A/C Evaporator

My wife went on a little trip this weekend (about two hours each way) and came home and told me that the passenger side floor was soaked. I immediately thought "evaporator" and I'm pretty sure I was right.

I put the car on ramps, and after searching for quite a while, I found the evaporator tube sticking out of the firewall. I took a little piece of clothes hanger, and stuck it in the tube and got myself a good soaking. Should have thought of that before laying on the concrete directly below the evaporator tube. :0

Anyway, I figured I would check to see if my repair was successful, so I went for a little drive with the A/C on (about a mile or so away) and came home and stopped in the driveway for a while. There was a little bit of condensate dripping from the tube, but it was RUNNING down a brake line or fuel line on the OPPOSITE side of the van. I noticed that it was doing this when my wife came home, too.

I can't figure this one out. Is it possible that condensate is coming out of the tube, and dripping onto this fuel/brake line and running over to the other side of the van?

Also, I've been having trouble with the EVAP VENT SOLENOID not being commanded properly during EVAP tests. Is it possible that the moisture in the dash could be contributing to this problem? The fuse for the vent solenoid is in the fuse box on the side of the dash. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but that really has me scratching my head, too.

when my hose fell off mine i put a longer hose on it to get it lower and it didn't drip on the drivers side anymore -the drip stays on the passenger side. when it came out of the factory the drain hose only drained an inch from the firewall and it would drip down on the brake lines and run over to the drivers side .extending the hose so it is lower will stop this. good luck.if you start having trouble with the power side door it will be where the wires in the passenger floor board got wet. yeah it could be the water in the a/c evap got on it when brakes were applied .you need to vacumn the passenger floor out to get the water out or its going to lay there and corrode the wires . good place is make the carwash vacumn earn that dollar and the vacumns at the carwashes have enough power to pull the water out
