ABS Sensors 2000 Taurus

Could someone tell me where the ABS sensor connection is located on the front brake calipers? Do the front wheels have to be removed to disconnect?
I tried removing the ABS fuse to disconnect ABS but it also controlled the A/C ... not a good thing when it is 90+ degrees.

The ABS wheel speed sensors for the front are mounted in the steering knuckle, near the wheel bearings. You will probably need to remove the wheels to disconnect the sensors, it would certainly make things easier anyway.

Care to share what you're trying to solve by disconnecting them? Since you mention pulling the fuse, it sounds like maybe you have an ABS light on or something. Disconnecting the wheel speed sensors doesn't sound like a good idea. Think about this, the ABS works by rapidly releasing brake fluid pressure to each wheel independently (in the case of your car) when it detects a wheel locks up. How does it determine a wheel has locked? Because the wheel speed goes to zero. What happens if the wheel speed sensor is disconnected/open circuit? If gives a reading of zero.

For what it's worth, there are 5 fuses that provide power to the ABS control module.
