My blazer dies when slowing down for a light or a stop sign. It has died a few times while driving at low speed on the road. Help!!!

Is it dying from low idle or other problems?
Any check engine lights or codes?
What engine and mileage and transmission?

It is a 2001 Chevy Blazer LS with a 4.3 engine it only has 65,890 miles on it. I have a mt2500 snap on scan tool, when i scan it nothing comes up no lights come on. When pulling up to a light or a stop sign the volt just start to drop then it dies. i have a new alt, battery, starter, battery cables, fan clutch, water pump, belt, belt tensioner, fuel pump and fuel filter on it. I have had the auto test the charging system and they say everything is fine. Not sure what to do now.

Is it dyng from low idle or other?

Check the battery voltage when it does it and voltage on and into fuse boxes.
Is it losing spark or fuel pressure when it dyes?

Not sure last time it did it i was driving it and on my way to work. It will die and start right back up. it will be good until the next light or stop sign then it will act up again

Watch the idle rpm and see if it is dying from low idle or other ptoblems.
Any check engine lights?
If so post back codes.
A good engine scanner may point you to the problem.
Good luck

The rpms drop and the volage drops also. No lights come on it just shut off and i restart it and on my way i go until the next light or stop sign. Scanned sitll no codes. I am a novice with my scanner still learning what it can do and can't do.

Watch for low rpm and pcm not controling idle rpm.
Egr valves are another cause of engine dying at idle.
Good luck

How do you go about testing the egr valve. when i scan the blazer it gives me readings, but no %.

Could be a dirty throttle body flapper. I ussually take a shop rag and spray some carb cleaner or similar and open it up and clean it all around

my 96 does the same thing, but with the fuel level below a 1/4 tank

also will "run out of gas" when parking on a nose low incline, when below 1/4 tank of gas
