when my gas gauge reaches around 1/4th of a tank and below, every time i turn right, or even slight turn the wheel to the right it hesitates... whereas when i turn left it does not.

when the gas is above 1/4 it doesn't hesitate at all.

anybody have a clue why it does this?

THANKS!!

First guess is something has changed inside your gas tank so that the fuel pump pickup has shifted to a position that it stops picking up gas. Before dropping the tank, with as little gas as you dare have in it, try rocking the car side to side as you can to see if you hear any clunking inside, not sloshing. You may need help for this to listen underneath or through the tank fill. If you have the tank access through the back floor, it wouldn't be hard to check inside the tank.

Everything else I can think of would happen irregardless of how much gas you have, like loose plug wire, loose fuel injector wiring, loose wiring to the fuel pump, loose vacuum line.

It would be interesting to know your fuel pressure at various conditions. I wouldn't think your pressure would be so sensitive to just a little cornering to cause a hesitation. If it hasn't been changed in awhile, I'd be curious if the fuel filter is dirty and needs replacing. I only have a hunch and speculation as to why it could be that only on an intermittent basis, but it has to do with turning forces and the shifting of crud in the filter.

It could be the vent is clogged and by the time you get dowb ro a quarter tank the fuel tank is under a vacuum and it's hard for the pump to suck fuel out. Next time it happens take your fuel cap off and go for a drive and see what happens. :2cents:
