air vents in the dash (stupid question)plainzwalker 03-10-2003, 02:36 AM okay i know this is probably a stupid question, but since i'm not too experienced with bmw's maybe this is normal. when i have the heater turned on, i only get it through either on the feet or through the defrosters, but not through the dash vents. i can only get cold air through those. is this a normal thing with bmw's? its an 89 520i w/o AC... also, i was wondering if there was a way to manually reset the oil service meter? i change my own oil and i don't see a reason to pay someone to have it changed.. thanks jeff:bloated: ntmcog 05-04-2003, 06:20 PM I'm not exactly sure, but I think the air vents are only for fresh air ventilation. They are not hooked up to the heater, so no heat comes throught the vents. The only heat that enters the cabin is through the floor vents and the vents on top of the dash. It sucks. rich2481 05-05-2003, 09:33 AM You are correct, the vents are for the AC and the heat only comes out top and bottom, it does suck, esp like in my case the damn vent air wont stop coming out, makes it damn cold, not the best design in the BMW for sure, center slider is for vent or AC only regards edonis 05-14-2003, 01:28 PM Is this the case of the 95-2002 models as well? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
