Clutch issue

This question is in behalf of my brother. He has an '03 Stang with a 5-spd tranny.

He just had the clutch replaced and the flywheel turned. The issue is that when he presses in the clutch pedal, it vibrates. Shifts fine, just has that aggravating vibration. He took it back to the guy who did the clutch job. He adjusted it, but still has the vibration.

Any clue as to a fix?

Two possible problems come to mind. One, and it happened to me, is that the clutch release fork is not all the way on the pivot. This can be easily fixed by removing the inspection cover where the clutch cable enters the bellhousing on the driver's side. The other problem is much more serious. If the installer "hung" the tranny on the clutch while putting it in, the weight of the tranny can bend the clutch hub - you will always have chattering. Another possible problem is that the pressure plate is out of spec and is not properly balanced.

Good luck....
