M1 2004 Rossiketje 07-09-2008, 07:56 AM This moment I'm working on the Tamiya M1 2004 Rossi. I will be using the Top Studio set, Tamiya front fork set, Gaulloise decals, SMS carbon, some hiroboy stuf and the zero paints. I already did a lot of sanding and sawing but I've still got a lot to do. Pictures will follow shortly. ketje 07-10-2008, 03:21 PM A quick peek of the slow progres, due to a lack of time. http://users.pandora.be/ketjesbazaar/_private/modellen/m1%202004/1a.jpg http://users.pandora.be/ketjesbazaar/_private/modellen/m1%202004/3a.jpg The inside was filled with styreen. The extra welds were made using streched sprue, glue and the back of a scalpel. The whole thing was primed afterwards. Roca46 07-11-2008, 04:30 AM Nice work ketje!! I like your welds, and also nice detailing with the wire. I will look very close to this thread, it looks very interesting. Bye Roca. slave 1 07-11-2008, 05:43 PM  looking very nice the weld's look perfect luv the small detail's like the chain ajuster's all look's very neat need to see some more. joelwideqvist 07-13-2008, 04:26 AM Great start! Iguess the adjusters are p/e(?) but what about the wiring, all scratch? /joel ketje 07-13-2008, 03:17 PM Great start! Iguess the adjusters are p/e(?) but what about the wiring, all scratch? /joel The wiring is included in the topstudio set, however I find the instructions blurry. At the end of the adjusters I put a little piece of plastic to represent the nuts. I also used two small pieces of metal to stabilise the connector. ketje 07-13-2008, 03:27 PM Yesterday I airbrushed the rear end. This was the first time I used the zero paints. They rock. http://users.pandora.be/ketjesbazaar/_private/modellen/m1%202004/IMG_0075net.jpg KevHw 07-13-2008, 04:56 PM Is it odd for me to find just that single photo a real beauty to look at? Gorgeous  ! ketje 07-29-2008, 06:23 PM Due to an unknown reason I screwed up my decals of the rear end. So I'm looking for someone who's got these in the sparebox. If not can anyone tell me where I can find these? daniel_k 07-30-2008, 04:50 AM the detailing looks nice, but how are you going to paint that ?!? I mean the connectors and wiring. It looks glued together. You should have painted the parts before and then assemble them. strange, very interested in the progress. daniel -germany- ketje 07-30-2008, 05:06 AM the detailing looks nice, but how are you going to paint that ?!? They will be detailed painted by hand. andybmw7272 07-30-2008, 06:45 AM Due to an unknown reason I screwed up my decals of the rear end. So I'm looking for someone who's got these in the sparebox. If not can anyone tell me where I can find these? I have two sets of decals that I can send you. PM me if you still need and we can figure out how to get them to you. Andy Roca46 07-31-2008, 03:13 PM Fabulous paint!! More photos please!! :) For the decals if Andy can't help you I can scan mine and send them to you but you will have to print them yourself. Roca. ketje 08-01-2008, 01:57 PM thanx roca I have sent a pm to Andy for the price and I'm waiting for a respond. I'll let you know. ketje 10-31-2008, 08:18 AM Due to future publishing of the model I'm not allowed to post a lot of pictures anymore. The built is going well this moment and the model will probably be published in the new Belgian magazine Art of Modelling and also in Model X. Here you've got a sneak preview. http://users.telenet.be/ketjesbazaar/_private/modellen/m1%202004/29a.jpg Hope you guys like it. khairy1974 10-31-2008, 08:23 AM Definitely an inspiration to me, a modeller who'd stopped for a while to raise a family....... ketje 12-13-2008, 08:05 AM Again a little update. I've worked on the bodywork and did some CF work. As I have already said, I'm not allowed to post a lot of pictures but here is one. Hope you guys like it. It's the tail section with the decals and cleared with the amazing 2Kclear. http://users.telenet.be/ketjesbazaar/_private/modellen/m1%202004/45a.jpg ketje 02-26-2009, 03:45 PM Some progress made. Still a lot to do. Just some test fitting at the moment. http://users.telenet.be/ketjesbazaar/_private/modellen/m1%202004/IMG_1009.jpg geronimo77 02-28-2009, 08:24 AM looks great so far. Congratulations :iceslolan Roca. joelwideqvist 06-28-2009, 03:04 PM Super, the seat and the chain got my attention right away! /Joel ketje 06-28-2009, 03:20 PM Roca46 07-02-2009, 09:33 AM Wow Nice job!! Maybe the seat is too much thick I remember when I saw the M1 that the seat had some kind of squares or lines like foam... Check this images: www.rocascalemotorcycles.com/Varios/m1seat1.jpg www.rocascalemotorcycles.com/Varios/m1seat2.jpg Great detail! Roca. Fazer1006 07-02-2009, 12:14 PM looking great, agree with Roca comment about the seat being thick, I used a bit of muslin cloth & painted liqiud poly onto it, hold for 5 minutes & peeled awy. Left a good pattern. Mark:wink: Tervo 07-02-2009, 01:56 PM Really beautiful detailing, wonder how many years it will take for me to get the patience to do things like you do! Roca, nice link to those pictures, but what did I see in this picture www.rocascalemotorcycles.com/Varios/m1seat2.jpg (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/www.rocascalemotorcycles.com/Varios/m1seat2.jpg), is it orange peel? Yep... it seems that even the real bikes have orange peel... anyway maybe the surface wasn't smooth enough... I should upload some pictures for reference on my website. Roca. ketje 07-02-2009, 02:57 PM Wow Nice job!! Maybe the seat is too much thick I remember when I saw the M1 that the seat had some kind of squares or lines like foam... Check this images: Roca. Thanx . About the seat, on picture it looks a bit thick but in real time it seems to be better. But next time I will use something different for the seat. I've already got something in mind, but I have to try it first. ketje 08-23-2009, 04:11 PM A photo of the cowlings. At the moment I'm fabricating a frame to mount the bodywork on. This will be placed next to the naked bike. http://users.telenet.be/ketjesbazaar/_private/modellen/m1%202004/92%20%5b800x600%5d.jpg ketje 09-21-2009, 08:56 AM All the work is done. Everything is ready on the bike, the bodywork and the display. Fot the display I used a plastic piece that was sandblasted and put some LED in it , just under the engine of the bike. This will highlight the metallic parts under the bike. The bodyparts were mounted on a frame and put aside the bike. Last weekend I entered competition with the bike and won a gold medal in the category bikes and cars. http://users.telenet.be/ketjesbazaar/_private/modellen/m1%202004/IMG_3884%20%5b800x600%5d.JPG I'll try to post a pictures taken in a dark room. All comments are welcome. joelwideqvist 09-21-2009, 03:39 PM Ahh. looks super. Great idea with that spare frame, perhaps I'll steal that some day. Detailing is just right and on this pic I find the seat just fine. Hope for more pictures. Darker set up to see the lighting better would be fantastic. Congratulations to your win, it was well deserved! /Joel geronimo77 09-22-2009, 03:30 AM HI David, Great work. Congratularions. Hope to see it next year in Moson contest :) ketje 09-22-2009, 12:25 PM HI David, Great work. Congratularions. Not easy to make a decent one. http://users.telenet.be/ketjesbazaar/_private/modellen/m1%202004/96%20%5b800x600%5d.jpg Enjoy!! joelwideqvist 09-24-2009, 04:17 PM I agree, very hard set up, but it looks very nice!
