Pics of new dual exhaust on '87 Capricedeesandvees 07-06-2008, 08:27 PM Got some nice work done on this exhaust so I thought I'd post some pics for your viewing pleasure. 700r4 trani with the 700r4 crossmember, chopped (see pic) and welded 200r4 arch to left side to make this a double hump crossmember. CSI mini high torque starter just barely fits out the opening between the headers and the block. I've had to take it in and out about ten times shimming it to work perfectly. http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o219/ernestmayhand/Caprice%20resto/0705081519.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o219/ernestmayhand/Caprice%20resto/0705081521.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o219/ernestmayhand/Caprice%20resto/0705081522.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o219/ernestmayhand/Caprice%20resto/0705081520a.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o219/ernestmayhand/Caprice%20resto/0705081520.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o219/ernestmayhand/Caprice%20resto/0705081522a.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o219/ernestmayhand/Caprice%20resto/hedmanleft.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o219/ernestmayhand/Caprice%20resto/hedmanright.jpg EngineandJuice 07-06-2008, 10:03 PM :crying: Wow that's just beautiful. Oh how I wished mine looked like that. mike561 07-06-2008, 10:55 PM :crying: Wow that's just beautiful. Oh how I wished mine looked like that. same here, thats done up really nice, i bet that thing really moves too silicon212 07-06-2008, 11:41 PM Looks excellent, however if it were mine, I'd throw a balance pipe on it. That's an H or X pipe ahead of the mufflers, that connects both systems together. It helps reduce pulsing and back pressure. deesandvees 07-07-2008, 12:15 AM Looks excellent, however if it were mine, I'd throw a balance pipe on it. I might do it later on, I was worried about it getting in the way if I'd have to take out the trani or anything like that. I've got 1300 miles on the new motor/trani and all seems well so far. silicon212 07-07-2008, 01:42 AM I considered that. You'll be dropping the exhaust to do the trans anyways, so why not do it? deesandvees 07-07-2008, 03:41 AM By the way those pics from under the car were taken with my cell phone...pretty decent camera on this thing: http://www.thaimobilephones.com/7258-4316-167-175-250x2759.jpg LG ENV silicon212 07-07-2008, 04:21 AM Not too bad. The camera in my phone doesn't take clear, crisp pictures, more like blurry jagged ones. Blt2Lst 07-07-2008, 05:04 PM Nice Job. I wish i could get away with all those performance modifications on my 89 wagon here in so cal. The smog cops wouldn't like it to much. :ylsuper: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
