Hello, I just replaced my front crank seal and put everything together but I am hearing an annoying sound from one of the pulleys. I believe it may be the timing belt tensioner. I may have put it on too tight (if possible). I slid the tensiner slider all the way. It went easily so I just assumed it was correct. Should I go back and loosen it?

Atleast it's not leaking oil anymore...:licka:

OK, I loosened up on the tensioner and the noise is gone. I did notice that when I tested it the timing belt would start to work itself off toward the edge of the pulleys. I didn't have the outer crankshaft pulley on when testing. It seems fine with the outer pulley on. Is this something to be concerned about?

Should be fine now. I overtightened mine at first also ;)

Is it normal for the timing belt to work itself outward and the outer crankshaft pulley keep it in place?

I've been told that the belt walking off is common if the outer pulley is not on and that it keeps it in place. I just thought it may become an issue later.
