The body was red in color, and I stripped the paint off with Aircraft Stripper (great stuff btw!). Took the paint off in a matter of a few minutes! http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr1.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr2.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr3.jpg supertrick_05 06-13-2008, 04:28 PM The body in bare metal: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr4.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr5.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr6.jpg supertrick_05 06-13-2008, 04:29 PM Some interior shots...the whole interior was all light grey with nothing of detail painted except for the decal for the gauges, which I removed so I could give the whole interior a paint job. I mixed flat black and flat grey and got a dark graphite color to match the factory "dark slate grey" color pretty dan well! Then I painted the HVAC bezel and the gauge surrounds just like in her car, as well as adding some color to the A/C controls and such. Also painted the door handles silver, as in her car, and the seat belt buckles with flat red. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr9.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr11.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr12.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr8.jpg supertrick_05 06-13-2008, 04:30 PM Here is the engine bay and one shot of the body. The engine bay was ALL black, except for the valve cover, which was silver in color. The bay is pretty accurate, only missing the injector cover with the "SRT-4" badge and it saying "3.4L TURBO" when it's really supposed to say "2.4L TURBO". LoL! They added a whole liter to the motor! That's a big-*** 4-cylinder! As for the body, it's nicely sculpted with minor imperfections, which I'm not going to worry about. I am, however, going to re-strip the car, due to me being impatient and putting fingerprints in the paint. I used Testors Model Master "Panther Pink" enamel can, which I'm now going to try a laquer system on it. I've heard you get much better results. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr14.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr15.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g18/supertrick_05/luciusjr19.jpg This is as far as I've gotten on it. I still have to find some wheels from a Revell "Tuner" series '93 Civic to match those of my friend's car, make a custom hood scoop, and find a way to make those AAR 'Cuda-style graphics. Stay tuned! dopna1230 06-13-2008, 04:51 PM nice ride wanna see my celica stainlesssteel 06-13-2008, 09:39 PM nice work so far! i hope you'll sand down the orangepeel later! keep posting updates supertrick_05 06-13-2008, 10:14 PM Yeah, I'm going to strip it down to bare metal again, use some self-etching primer, and use Testor's laquer primer, color, and clear. Hopefully I'll get it smooth after that and won't have to sand anything. NissanSkylineGTR98 06-20-2008, 08:56 PM Looks like an amazing project!
