Newbie here... Is this forum active?abovenbeyond 06-10-2008, 06:26 PM Just wondering? Kevin '97ventureowner 06-10-2008, 08:04 PM In one word...VERY. Out of all the forums I peruse, the Caprice is one of the busiest. When you sign on to the site and go to a forum, the threads in bold have had activity since you were last logged on. That can be a good indicator as to the activity or posting level of a certain forum. EngineandJuice 06-10-2008, 08:15 PM Just look at the dates on teh previous topics. It's really active and you probably haven't gotten an answer because people haven't gotten home yet. silicon212 06-10-2008, 08:42 PM No, it's pretty vacant here, and any activity you see in here is a Fig-Newton of your imagination. :) http://cache.boston.com/images/bostondirtdogs//Headline_Archives/BDD_tumbleweed_head_perfectuk.jpg '97ventureowner 06-10-2008, 08:43 PM I'm sure once silicon212 sees the threads you'll get a response :grinyes: EDIT: See! I told ya  He responded while I was typing my last response. mike561 06-10-2008, 09:44 PM yeah its been kinda quite here the past few days i noticed Blue Bowtie 06-10-2008, 10:03 PM What? Did someone say something? silicon212 06-10-2008, 11:44 PM Shhhh ... you'll awaken the rats. mike561 06-11-2008, 12:42 AM nvm lol abovenbeyond 06-11-2008, 12:11 PM Ahh ok good... I like happy shinny people. lol mike561 06-11-2008, 02:48 PM heres a really interesting video from back in 1990 i found on youtube of the 1991 caprice in review http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxMvZ9Visig GreyGoose006 06-11-2008, 08:08 PM that thing really seemed to have a lot of trouble with bumps. typical under damped suspension i guess. with my 9c1 shocks and standard springs, it feels like a typical modern 2dr car. PeteA216 06-12-2008, 12:18 PM I kinda like threads like this once in a while, has absolutely nothing to do with the section it's in, and is just a sorta goof-off spot. That Caprice video... cool. Still had that '80s style introduction lol. I'm suprised that a car as big as it is, is capable of nearly 30 MPG. mike561 06-12-2008, 01:20 PM I kinda like threads like this once in a while, has absolutely nothing to do with the section it's in, and is just a sorta goof-off spot. I agree with you on both pete, we should have just an off topic thread to b.s. around in. i like the retro look of the vid too, i'd like to see a review video like that with box caprices, im sure theres ones out there somewhere from the stoneage :iceslolan deesandvees 06-12-2008, 04:24 PM I've been trying to find 80's caprice professional videos since I got into this car. There must be some commercials or something? I've seen some cool ads in old National Geographic magazines and some others. But I really wish I could find a Chevrolet commercial archive from the 80's. mike561 06-12-2008, 04:43 PM heres a commercial from the 70s introducing the new style for the 1977 caprice, close but i still wanna see an 80s one http://youtube.com/watch?v=2D7IrUgNi4M PeteA216 06-12-2008, 11:11 PM Man, I liked the interior of that one.... it's like a mix of the boxy we're used to and early '70s chevrolet cars. I like things like the steering wheel, trim around the door handle, and for some reason the back seat looks more comfortable. 463 06-12-2008, 11:30 PM oh! did you wash your car this year? i did. :lol2: http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff306/463_photos/1002.jpghttp://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff306/463_photos/1004.jpg '97ventureowner 06-13-2008, 12:19 AM heres a commercial from the 70s introducing the new style for the 1977 caprice, close but i still wanna see an 80s one http://youtube.com/watch?v=2D7IrUgNi4M I remember seeing that commercial back in the '70s  The guy who is in the video (Jerry Orbach) was in Law & Order from it's inception until he passed away in 2004. beat88ls 06-13-2008, 12:27 AM I remember seeing that commercial back in the '70s  The guy who is in the video (Jerry Orbach) was in Law & Order from it's inception until he passed away in 2004. good old Jerry Orbach... 463:oh! did you wash your car this year? i did. that is one NICE looking paint job!!! '97ventureowner 06-13-2008, 12:35 AM good old Jerry Orbach... I was a big fan of his on the show from the beginning. I still watch all of the franchises of the series, but my favorite is the original series he was in. '97ventureowner 06-13-2008, 12:37 AM I agree with you on both pete, we should have just an off topic thread to b.s. around in. i like the retro look of the vid too, i'd like to see a review video like that with box caprices, im sure theres ones out there somewhere from the stoneage :iceslolan It could be possible, other forums on this site have their own off topic section. Send a PM to Blue Bowtie or Shortbus, the assigned Mods to this subforum and request it. The worst they could say is "No." mike561 06-16-2008, 07:36 PM heres an early 80s caprice commercial from mexico http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLh19h8Dwck mike561 07-01-2008, 04:30 PM and another box caprice in a movie and music vid here at 2:23 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WlstnPwZ9g and in the movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cT-6jmZRKA its cool to see these cars regular in movies and music vids not just as taxi cabs or cop cars vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
