I need the firing order for an 85 Olds Regency 98.

I've tried the 1-6-5-4-3-2 and it doesn't work. The car just sits there and trys to turn over. I can't find the manual, and I can't find it anywhere else. It's really starting to piss me off that I can't find it. I got all new spark plugs, but I took the new ones out and there was already gunk and crap on them? Someone help me on that too? The distributor cap is circular, with two plugs on both sides, and one on the top and bottom.

I know the valve #'s and stuff. Thanks guys!

1-6-5-4-3-2 is the correct firing order on the later 3.8s with distributorless ignition. I'm guessing it was the same on the earlier years with distributor.

What happened? Did you change the plugs & now it won't start?

If you removed the wires from the distributor then you also need to know if the distributor rotates clockwise or counter clockwise.
