Help with the wiring of the rear

Hello. I have a 1997 Buick Lesarbe (sp?) and I have extra lights I use for the fire dept behind the back seats by the rear window. I woud like to wire these lights so when I use my blinker the one light will go on. I have two. One on each side. So I want the right light to blink when the right blinker is on.
My question is, Which colored wire would I wire my emergency lights to the blinker lights. I'm pretty sure you would use the hot wire coming off the emergency lights to tap into the brake lights. Just need to know which colored wire is for the blinkers.
On the LEFT side of the car there are 3 wires.
There is Green to the left, then Brown in the middle, then Black to the right all on the same plug that goes to the blub. and on the RIGHT side there is also 3 wires. There is Yellow to the right, then brown in the middle, then black to the right going to the bulb.
All I really need to know is which colored wire is the blinkers.
Another quick question, is the blinker wire also the brake wire. I'm just wondering so I will know now if my lights will be on when I use the brake.
