98 new beetle warm start problemituyen 05-29-2008, 12:58 PM Hi, I have a 98 2.0L 4 cyl new beetle with 150K miles on it that has a warm start issue. Cold it starts and runs fine, but when warm the engine cranks hard but it refuses to start. I don't smell any fuel either. Any hints? Thanks hako 06-02-2008, 11:13 PM You are pretty high mileage so that must mean your NB has been good to you! My first check point would be the battery and terminals - if the battery is not in A1 order and only fractionally down on cranking volts the car may not start. This problem can be worse on a hot engine as the hotter a cable get the greater its resistance. Good Luck. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
