I need to add a small amount of power steering fluid to bring the level up to the dipctick hatchmarks. Any recommendations on what fluid to use?

As far as where it is going, there seems to be a very small leak at the fitting on the pipe to the fluid reservoir. I am hoping that a quarter turn on the fitting will take care of this. I just need to find a wrench that I can fit into the small space.

Look in your owners manual.

standard PS fluid is fine....you can use dextron ATF as well. I think honda is the only one that specifically requres a certain fluid.

Yeah, Im currently running a mix of PS fluid and ATF, no issues on my end. I was running low on PS fluid after some maintenance work, and the only thing I had handy was ATF, so in it went!

I can also vouch for the ATF substitution. Having a father who is an Amsoil dealer with many open bottle around the garage also helped that situation along...

The best thing you can do is use a suction pump and empty the reservoir before adding fluid. I would ONLY use the specified fluid listed in the owners' manual. I won't use ATF UNLESS the manual OK it.

Empty/refill the PS reservoir every year.

i would also reccomend sucking the old fluid out of there with a turkey baster...when i got my car the steering felt a bit resistive and had some pump groan...fluid was jet black and smelled like burnt wires...wich was probably doing about as good of job lubricating the pump as water. I think i used what I had left of some cheap PS fluid and topped it off with some ATF.
