I'm in the process of changing all the fluids on my 00 3.4L LS and am wondering which power steering fluid works best for this vehicle. Mine has 95k miles and as far as I can tell it's not been renewed. There aren't any leaks or noise from the rack.
I'm intending to drain the reservoir, refill, drive 100 milkes or so and repeat unless anyone has a better method.

i suck out the res bottle and replace every week 3x this usually does it safely and fast with minimun spilling....by doing this you should keep steering system in good condition...thats my experience i replace this at about 80-100,000mi.....when it starts to get dark..since 1967 i've never had any problems with this area of vehicle...by doing this fluid replacement.

j cAT I agree entirely with your method. Which fluid do you recommend?

i use prestone/castrol power steering fluid for gm vehicles and no problems..

usually if you use the other methods to drain,, the fluid gets air bubbles created and then the pump gets noisey...
