I finally finished a HeadGasket Replacement on my Cabrio and it wont start. everything went well, according to manuals, and there are no problems with the fuelpump/ignition, and I was very careful about the timing belt, distributor.
I killed the battery trying...
Any advice?

Besides the fact that no one seemed to have advice,
I managed to find the problem(s)...

1) coil ground wire was disconnected...
2) fouled Spark Plug
3) TopDeadCenter was 'off'
4) spark timing (distributor) was 'off'

Runs Great Now! :grinyes:

BTW, use the Reverse U-Bolt-Clamp technique for the exhaust C-clamps

Here is a Picture with the Head off...

Pretty Clean Huh?
Use Acetone (nail polish remover) on a None scratch brillo type pad, and sand about in this order
220 grit
400 grit
600 grit

Don't forget the break-in period!
Fill/Check fluids, spin crank twice by hand, then hope it starts
Once running, Let the engine idle to 'normal' temps.
Then cool it, flush the radiator, and fill with coolant.
After your fluids and pressures have 'normalized,' and there are no leaks...
Use an old county road with low/no traffic and gently accelerate to 50 mph, then let off the gas and decelerate to 30 mph (probably need to eventually shift to 4th), then accelerate and do it again, about 10-12 times...
After about 600 miles under sustained highway speeds (try to stay under 60 mph), do an oil change and consider it broke in.
