My son just bought a 1996 Chrysler Concorde, after driving it for about a day, now it will start and run for about 5 seconds, then it shuts down and the head lights flash for about 2 minutes. I am assuming there is a securty system that he some how armed that is now shutting it down. As he did not get the keyless entry remote with the car, I am un able to disarm the system. Any one here know how to do this without a remote?

Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

Use the key in either front door to unlock, it should disable the alarm system.

Thanks AWP9521 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=228195)
But I tried that, the key does not work the passenger door or the trunk and the power lock solenoid does not appear to work on the drivers door. Any other suggestions? Is there a wire or circuit I can jumper, or just disconnect?

PS
I also tried manually cycling the locks from inside the car, that didn't seem to do much either.

The key is the only way to disarm the car unless you have the remote, there is a switch mounted on the back of the Lock Cylinder on each front door that makes or breaks a connection disarming the alarm when the key is turned to the unlock position, you should be able to pull the door panel to get access to the switch , it's small and triangular shaped and made of white plastic, it may have popped off the back of the lock cylinder and laying on the bottom of the door and just needs put back on, or may need replaced if the holding tabs are broken off.

Manually cycling the locks from inside will do nothing, and the power locks will only rearm the alarm system when locked with any front door open.

I would get that door lock on the passenger side fixed too, some kind of lock lubricant sprayed in there and possibly you can work it free again.

take off your drvers door panel.at the lower left hand side of innerdoor you will find a green wire with a orange stripe. you can cut or splice this wire with a short peice of scrap wire. now ground that wire on a bolt or nut.put panel back together and your done.
