1991 Jeep Commanche squeaky noisebassjam 05-16-2008, 07:43 PM I have replaced the idler pulley, belt, water pump and atlernator and still have a bad squeak. If I spray a shot of wd 40 on the belt it will quit for a minute. Any ideas? Thanks, James:confused: fredjacksonsan 05-23-2008, 11:04 PM Does it squeak all the time, or just after startup? Do you have the automatic tensioner, or the one that is adjustable? Is the squeak in the belt itself or one of the components? denisond3 04-15-2009, 10:35 PM And now that you have gotten wd-40 onto the belt, you should get it clean. Try squirting laundry detergent on the belt, first while stopped, then while running, and while running rinse it well with a garden hose/sprayer. I would want to make sure the squeak was not due to a bad viscous drive fan clutch. Ludwig457 05-19-2009, 09:02 PM serp belt? Trader Ray 06-04-2009, 04:55 PM Does it have power steering? could be the pump getting ready to go. fredjacksonsan 06-05-2009, 11:57 AM Guys, I think since bassjam hasn't replied for over a year, he's probably not going to.
